36 Weeks

November 13, 2012 - 36 Weeks 5 Days
Ok so I'm almost 37 weeks now, but I did fill out my survey at the 36 week mark I just never got it posted because I was slacking on taking a picture. But this is still technically during the 36th week so I think it still counts as on time.

How far along?  36 weeks
Total weight gain/loss:  33 pounds – hopefully I’m about done gaining weight because I’ve just about reached the limit of what I’m “supposed” to gain
Maternity clothes?  Always
Stretch marks?  Still no – cross your fingers for me
Sleep:  Actually I feel like I’ve been sleeping a little better than I was before – I still wake up several times a night but I’m getting back to sleep faster
Best moment this month: Getting some last minute travel in before baby
Movement: My goodness yes: this is a very active baby
Food cravings: Still just always hungry
Gender: Boy
Labor Signs: I have Braxton hicks contractions sporadically throughout the day but nothing to indicate delivery day is coming anytime soon
Belly Button in or out? Flat with a little poking out
Wedding rings on or off? On
What I miss: The ability to bend over
What I am looking forward to: My baby shower, it should be tons of fun (this actually took place last night and was lots of fun), and still getting the nursery done (procrastinating much)
Milestones: In just one week this baby will be considered full term – that is pretty crazy!

BYU v Notre Dame

This last weekend Jed and I got to take a fun day trip up to South Bend Indiana to see BYU play Notre Dame. It was a very long day what with driving up, checking out Notre Dame's campus, watching the game, and then driving home all in one day, but it was super fun. Notre Dame's campus was beautiful, the weather was great, and it was a good football game even if BYU couldn't manage a win in the end. I will admit that it was an uncomfortable day for this pregnant lady, but what can you do - I would have been uncomfortable sitting at home too, so I might as well do fun stuff while I still can. This next weekend we're taking our last pre-baby trip and going down to Georgia with some friends for, what else ... the BYU v Georgia Tech game. It should be a ton of fun!

In front of the famous golden dome

Here we are with touchdown Jesus

At the game! (Yeah are seats were super high, but Notre Dame isn't exactly known for their cheap tickets)

Wedding Weekend

Last weekend I was lucky enough to be able to go to Georgia and attend the wedding of my friend Sarah. After a flight down to Atlanta I drove to Savannah for the wedding with my good friend Beth, and luckily good friends always make long drives much more bearable. After a fun afternoon in Savannah with Beth, her brother Bob and his wife, and my friend Lindsey and her husband Peter it was wedding time!  The wedding was absolutely beautiful and it was so much fun to catch up with friends from high school that I hadn't seen in forever. After the wedding I was able to stay and visit with my parents in Atlanta for a couple of days, which is always a good time. Poor Jed was at home with a bad cold while I was enjoying Georgia - I guess that's what he gets for having that pesky job he has to go to.

How far along?  32 weeks
Total weight gain/loss:  27 pounds
Maternity clothes?  All the time
Stretch marks?  Nope (hopefully it manages to stay that way)
Sleep:  Is no an acceptable answer? I have definitely hit that uncomfortable part of pregnancy where you wake up all the time
Best moment this month: Convincing Jed to paint my toes because it is just too hard to do it myself now
Movement: All the time
Food cravings: Just hungry hungry hungry
Gender: Boy
Labor Signs: Nope – still a couple months to go before those show up hopefully
Belly Button in or out? Flat
Wedding rings on or off? On
What I miss: Sleeping through the night and being able to take my shoes on and off without an epic struggle
What I am looking forward to: Still getting the nursery set up (yeah … that didn’t happen last month)
Milestones: We’re now into the single digits of weeks left before my due date – just 8 weeks to go!

Baby Crafts

People often ask what I do all day now that I'm graduated and done with the bar. And honestly the answer is not a whole lot right now, though I do seem to always fill up my day easily. I spend lots of time going on long walks and playing with Darwin, actually keeping the house clean and keeping up with the laundry (probably the first time this has happened since Jed and I have been married), and of course getting things ready and organized for the baby while also reading lots of baby and parenting books so I hopefully don't feel totally lost once the  baby gets here, and of course looking for part time work and applying for jobs. It's really a pretty good gig. Another thing I've been doing is working on some little baby projects. So far I have crocheted a blanket and made a bunch of cute little burp cloths. These weren't hard projects or anything but I'm not very practiced so they took me a long time and I'm quite proud that I actually finished them.

The blanket - the yellow seems a little girly but I started this before I knew what we were having (remember I'm slow) so I was going for something gender neutral.
The cute little birth cloths - I made two in each of these fabrics, supposedly you need a lot of these things :)

Fall Days

The weather here has been beautiful and we have been really enjoying the awesome temperatures - it's hard to beat 70s and sunny. Darwin and I have been enjoying sitting outside in the afternoons and going on nice long walks.

Jed and I have also been on some lovely walks and have found some new parks (well new to us) with walking trails that Darwin adores. Because some of the trails are so little used we can let Darwin off his leash to run back and forth along the trail (shh .. don't tell).  We have also had a ton of deer in our backyard recently, which has been fun. Hopefully the weather lasts though because as lovely as fall is I hate the weather that it precedes.

Ouch

A couple of night ago I dropped a plate while I was cooking dinner ... a big heavy glass plate. Luckily my toe cushioned the fall so my $1 plate from Ross was unharmed. Unfortunately my toe didn't far so well.

28 Weeks

September 13, 2012 - 28 Weeks

How far along?  28 weeks
Total weight gain/loss:  20 pounds – yep the weight gain definitely sped up this month, hopefully my crazy hunger abates soon so that I don’t end up gaining 50 pounds
Maternity clothes?  Most definitely yes
Stretch marks?  Nope (knock on wood)
Sleep:  Not too bad, the only problem is that my body has decided that I need to wake up every time I move or need to turn over; I’m not sure why, I’m pretty sure I used to be able to shift in bed without fully waking
Best moment this month: Feeling the baby flip all around and even seeing my stomach pop around when he kicks
Movement: Just about all the time
Food cravings: Nope, just hungry as can be
Gender: Boy
Labor Signs: Not for awhile hopefully
Belly Button in or out? Is there such a thing as a half outie? The top of my belly button sticks out a tiny bit and the rest is basically flat. It is very weird
Wedding rings on or off? On
What I miss: Being able to curl up with my legs on a chair – I know this seems silly but I often sit with my legs up on my chair and my big belly is just in the way now
What I am looking forward to: Finally getting the nursery set up
Milestones: Third trimester!
