Sick ... Again!
Yuck! This last weekend I was sick for the second time in a month. I'm not dying of swine flu or anything - just a nasty cold - but it's still so frustrating to be sick multiple times in a row. Off course the advantage of being sick was that I basically just spent the weekend sitting on the couch reading, and watching tv on my computer. The bad part about that was that I started watching this show and basically became obsessed:
I could not explain why the show is so compelling, but I spent a large portion of my weekend watching this show and literally sobbing through every episode. Pathetic: yes. But also very much true. Now I'll have to watch through the end of the season ... it's inevitable at this point.

Law Student's Syndrome?
Have you ever heard of medical student's syndrome? It's basically where medical student's feel like they have the diseases that they are studying. (Jed doesn't seem to have contacted this yet) I think they need something similar for law students. Not because there is anything you learn about that would lead you to believe people will sue you constantly, but because when reading about cases you read about so many freak accidents. For example in torts we read a case a couple of weeks ago about a woman who was walking through an airport terminal and a light fell out of the ceiling, hit her on the head, and killed her. Seriously. I've also read cases about people being killed by their lawnmowers, brutally injured by their coffee machines, and basically terrorized by a host of other ordinary seeming items. All of the sudden there are all kinds of previously unheard of dangers all around. I haven't changed anything yet, but I am looking at household appliances, and light fixtures especially, a little more warily.
