Haircut

Today, in part of my continuing effort to take care of all of those things I neglected the last semester of law school and while studying for the bar, I got a haircut.

Woohoo!

I'm not the best at self-portraits but here it is

As a side note - I finished the bar. That is a wonderful weight to have off my shoulders.

Halfway

July 19th - 20 weeks

In honor of the halfway point of this pregnancy here is a fun little pregnancy survey

How far along?  20 weeks
Total weight gain/loss:  9 pounds (gained obviously)
Maternity clothes?  For the most part – I still wear my regular pants with a belly band but I’ve switched to maternity shirts or shirts a size up so I don’t stretch my regular ones out
Stretch marks?  Nope (fingers crossed)
Sleep:  Doing good, my legs tend to cramp up at night and Jed isn’t particularly happy about the extra pillows that have joined our bed but other than that sleep is going well.
Best moment this week: Hitting the halfway mark seems like a pretty big deal
Movement: Nothing so far
Food cravings: No crazy cravings though once I get a food in my head I’ll obsess about it until I have it.  I have also really wanted red meat and cheese throughout this pregnancy which are not things I normally eat much at all
Gender: Boy
Labor Signs: Thank goodness no
Belly Button in or out? Still in
Wedding rings on or off? On
What I miss: Sushi – remember how I obsess about food I want, I’ve wanted sushi for like 4 weeks now
What I am looking forward to: Feeling the baby move  … and sushi
Milestones: Halfway there!

Guess What Came in the Mail

Today this came in the mail: "You have been approved to take the July 2012 Ohio bar examination . . . "  followed by about 10 pages of what I absolutely may not bring with me to the bar exam.  My first reaction was well they certainly took their sweet time getting that letter out seeing as I started applying for this thing November of 2010. My second reaction was lots of internal expletives as the fact that I have to actually take the bar exam in a little over a week finally came full force.

As Jed will tell you there has been a lot of stressing and studying going on around these parts and not a lot else.  Luckily for our poor neglected house Jed decided to be SuperHubby this morning and do a load of laundry, walk Darwin for me, do the dishes, take out the garbage, give Darwin a bath and then unload the now clean dishwasher.  I declared him the best hubby in the world and then sent him off to the lab to work for a couple of hours.

Now I just have to keep repeating to myself only 13 more days and it's all over, only 13 more days and it's all over, only 13 more days and it's all over . . ..

It's a ...

I better go out and buy some blue because it's a BOY

(Not an actual picture of our child - it still looks like a black and white alien in all our ultrasound pictures.)

Happy 4th of July

Well because my life has essentially been consumed by studying for the bar at this point I spent the majority of the 4th of July studying while Jed went into work for a few hours and then tried to escape from the crazy heat wave we've been having here while playing with Darwin.  And honestly, even though I was studying it was such a nice change of pace to have Jed home throughout the day to chat with at lunch and to keep an eye on Darwin.

That evening we went to a friend's house for a barbeque, chatting, and to light off some fireworks.  Here is Jed enjoying the show (notice that it is fully light, but the fireworks still looked good).

After that we headed home and decided to stay in that night to be there to comfort Darwin because all of the firework bangs that had been going on throughout the week leading up to the 4th scared him to death so we knew it would be a bad night for him.  I hope your 4th was just as lovely (really I hope you didn't have to study so it was even more lovely)
